How the Program works

Refer someone new to Seneca. If they become a client and complete their first qualifying engagement, you earn a referral reward and your friend receives a one-time discount on that engagement. You can refer in one of three ways: by sharing your personal referral link, by sending an email invitation through the Program, or by having your friend name you when they first contact us, provided we can identify you in our records at that time. Who can participate

The Program is open to anyone of legal age located in the United States, and you do not need to be a Seneca client to refer. Your Referred Friend must be genuinely new to Seneca, meaning they are not a current or former client and are not already an active prospect or contact in our system at the time of the referral. A referral is credited to only one Referrer, and only one reward is ever paid for a Referred Friend. Seneca decides, in its sole discretion, how referrals are attributed and whether a referral qualifies. You may not refer yourself, an entity you own or control, a property in which you hold an interest, your own engagement, or members of your own household. Seneca employees and contractors, along with members of their immediate households, are not eligible to participate as Referrers.

Earning the referral reward

You earn a referral reward only after your Referred Friend engages Seneca as a client, completes their first qualifying engagement, and Seneca has received full payment for that engagement once any applicable cancellation or refund period has passed. A qualifying engagement is one that includes Seneca cost segregation services, whether purchased on their own or together with other Seneca services such as Form 3115 preparation. A purchase of other services that does not include cost segregation does not qualify for a reward. The reward is a one-time benefit per Referred Friend, no matter how many studies or services that friend may purchase later. You may refer as many different people as you like and earn a reward for each one that qualifies. A referral qualifies only if it meets the conditions and timing Seneca sets from time to time, and Seneca may decline any referral that does not.

Your friend’s discount

Your Referred Friend receives a one-time discount on their first qualifying engagement, in the amount then shown on the Program page. As with the referral reward, a qualifying engagement is one that includes Seneca cost segregation services, whether purchased on their own or together with other Seneca services such as Form 3115 preparation, and the discount applies only to that qualifying engagement. The discount applies to a single engagement and cannot be combined or stacked with any other discount, coupon, promotion, or offer. Only one discount applies per order, and the total discount will never exceed the maximum Seneca sets.

Reward payment and taxes

Rewards are paid using the method Seneca designates, which may include a third-party payment processor. Before any reward is paid, you must provide the payout details and any tax documentation we require, which may include an IRS Form W-9 or its equivalent; we may hold a reward until you do. Rewards are personal to the Referrer, are not transferable, and have no cash value except as paid under the Program. A reward may be taxable income, and you are solely responsible for any taxes on it; Seneca may issue tax forms required by law. Seneca does not provide tax advice, so please consult your own tax advisor.

Relationship to the Seneca Partner Program

The Program is separate from the Seneca Partner Program, which is available by application and acceptance only and is governed by its own agreement, with its own benefits and service levels. For any given referred client you may receive a benefit under either the Refer-a-Friend Program or the Partner Program, but not both. If a referral could qualify under both, Seneca decides which applies, and the Partner Program agreement takes precedence.

Acceptable conduct, verification, and fraud

All referrals are subject to verification, and we may ask for information to confirm a referral and the eligibility of the people involved. Our records are final in determining attribution, eligibility, and timing. You may refer only people you personally know who have given you clear, affirmative consent to receive your messages, and you must reach out lawfully and never send spam or unsolicited messages. The Program is for personal use, not commercial promotion: you may not advertise, market, or promote your referral link or the Program through any paid or third-party advertising platform (including Google, Bing, Meta, or similar ad networks), bid on or use Seneca’s name or trademarks in advertising, or post your personal referral link or code publicly in any way that turns it into a public discount code. You may not misrepresent your relationship to Seneca, act as our agent, or make any promises, guarantees, or representations about tax results or our services on our behalf, and you may not use bots, fake accounts, or other deceptive means. Seneca may withhold, void, or reverse any reward or discount and may remove any participant for actual or suspected fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.

Cancellations and refunds

Because a referral reward is paid only after Seneca has received full payment for the qualifying engagement and any applicable refund period has passed, no reward is owed if the engagement is cancelled, refunded, or not fully paid before then. Except in cases of fraud or abuse, Seneca does not seek repayment of a reward once it has been paid.

Changes to or ending of the Program

Seneca may change, pause, or end the Program, or modify these Terms, including eligibility, reward and discount amounts, and qualifying conditions, at any time, with or without notice, in its sole discretion. The current version of these Terms governs your participation, and continuing to take part after changes are posted means you accept them.

General

Participation in the Program does not create any employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between you and Seneca, and nothing in these Terms is tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. The Program and its rewards are provided on an “as is” basis, and Seneca makes no guarantee of any result or benefit. Decisions about rewards and eligibility are final and are not subject to dispute or correspondence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seneca is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the Program, and its total liability for any claim relating to the Program will not exceed the reward at issue. You agree to indemnify and hold Seneca harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising out of your participation in the Program or your communications with the people you refer.

Seneca may limit the number of referrals or rewards in its discretion. The Program is void where prohibited, and if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable the rest remains in effect. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. We handle information about a Referred Friend in line with Seneca’s Privacy Policy, and by referring someone you confirm you have their clear, affirmative permission to share their contact information with us and to receive your messages.
